Mrs. Johanna Fredericka Christina Zahn, who is an aged pioneer of the town of Grant passed away at her home, Tuesday morning, December 2nd.

Mrs. Zahn was seventy-eight years and fifteen days old at the time of her death. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gruenow and was born at Lutwigsherst, Pommern, Germany November 18, 1852. When 28 years of age she was united in marriage to Albert August Zahn. In the year of 1892 the couple came to America, settling in their present location in the town of Grant.

Mr. and Mrs. Zahn are the parents of twelve children, two of which are still living namely, Hattie of Shawano and Albert who is at home.

Besides her two children the deceased leaves to mourn her death her husband and three sisters, Mrs. Fred Strehlaw and Mrs. Halpop of Marion and Mrs. Jule Hoeft of Milwaukee.

Mrs. Zahn leaves a vacant spot in the hearts of her many friends who through her kindness and hospitality drew them to her.

Funeral services will be held from the Zions Lutheran church at Caroline at 1:30 p. m., Friday, December 5th. Services will be officiated by Rev. Brede.
