The Shawano men who initially enlisted into Company F of Shawano County 4th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment, Wisconsin National Guard were discharge once they were in the  US Army Camp MacArthur, Waco, Texas and enlisted in the US Army.  The Wisconsin and Michigan National Guard units were disbanded and the 32nd Division was formed.  Company F, 127th Infantry Regiment U.S. National Guard was formed by Milwaukee men from Company F, 1st Wisconsin Infantry N.G. and Shawano men from Company F, 4th Wisconsin Infantry N.G. 

Company F, 4th Wisconsin Infantry National Guard was formally retired Oct. 16th 1917.
