This recipe is a newspaper clipping from my great grandmother's cookbook (handed down to her granddaughter, Phyllis Dorothy Wilson Purdy, who has handed it to me. My great grandmother is Jennie Mae Halstead Colby.
Peel and slice enough apples to fill your baking dish two-third full. Sprinkle with cinnamon, add one- half cup water. Blend one cup su- gar, one cup flour, one-half cup but- ter. Sprinkle mixture over apples and bake until apples are tender.
Serve with cream.
