Bacon & Asparagus Rolls
This recipe is from my great grandmother's cookbook (handed down to her granddaughter, Phyllis Dorothy Wilson Purdy, who has handed it to me. My great grandmother is Jennie Mae Halstead Colby.
Sauce (mix together) 2 Tbs melted butter 2 tbs flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp sugar pepper Add 1 cup milk & asparagus liquid, drained from canned or fresh cooked asparagus, to make 2 cups. Biscuit dough, rolled thin and cut in squares. 1 lb bacon cooked crisp and chopped On each square place 2 tbp asparagus 2 of bacon Roll and close ends Bake about 25 min Add chopped bacon, if any left, to sauce.
