This recipe is from my great grandmother's cookbook (handed down to her granddaughter, Phyllis Dorothy Wilson Purdy, who has handed it to me. My great grandmother is Jennie Mae Halstead Colby.
1 cup sugar 1/2 cup Butter and lard mixed 1 egg 1 cup sweet milk 2 1/2 cup flour 1/2 teaspoons B P 1/2 cup currants
Bake in a flat bread pan.
Mix cinnamon and sugar with 1 teaspoon flour and 1 teaspoon butter and sprinkle over top. Bake 20 min.
