Friedrich Rucks

 

Friedrich Rucks, a farmer, for many year a resident of West Bloomfield, passed away at his home on July 5th.  He had been ill all summer and for one week previous to the time of death he was confined to his bed.

 

Deceased was born in Germany on April 26th, 1855 and came to America many years ago.

 

He is survived by his widow, four sons, three daughters, two brothers and two sisters.

 

Funeral services were conducted at the West Bloomfield church on Monday, July 8th by Rev. Wm. Naumann and interment was made in Concordia Cemetery in Bloomfield.

 

Herman Koehler, August Behnke, John Bauer, Henry Kleist, Herman (cannot read) and Fred Thews were the pall bearers.

Mrs. Wilimena Rucks

 

Mrs. Wilimena Caroline Rucks of West Bloomfield passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herman Stuebs of Little Wolf , on Friday, Aug. 20, at the age of 68 years and 2 months, after an illness of two weeks.

 

Mrs. Rucks was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Koeppen and was born in Germany on June 20, 1858, coming to this country and settling in West Bloomfield in 1868.  In 1877 she was united in marriage to Frederick Rucks.  Eight children were born of this union, one of whom died in infancy.

 

She is survived by her children, Anna, Mrs. Carl Stuebs; Alvina, Mrs. Herman Stuebs of Little Wolf; Louise, Mrs. Irving Bartel; Henry; Chas. and Martin of Minnesota; and Leo; besides twenty-one grandchildren and on great-grandchild.

 

Mrs. Rucks had been a faithful member of the West Bloomfield church, and was always a kind and loving mother.  She was well liked by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed by all.

 

The funeral was held from the West Bloomfield church on Monday, Aug. 23, with services in charge of Rev. Neuman.  Interment was in Concordia Cemetery at West Bloomfield.

 

The pall bearers were:  Martin Pagel, Herman Hirte, Herman Koehler, Julius Trojan, Herman Beyers and Alb. Krause.
