My great-great grandma wrote it at the time of the reunion in 1923. She was John Nathan Jordan's daughter and was married to Charles Decker of Loraville, near Berlin and Red Granite. And all who can claim The honor of bearing This very fine name. A name that was given As history relates Generations ago Tho I can't give the dates. By a King of Old England To a man who was quite Brave enough to deserve The title of Knight Sir John Jordan was thenceforth The name that he bore As his King thus commanded So then, therefore Their numbers increased Till this family tree Has done its full share For posterity To give an idea Of hw it has flourished By rugged endeavor And fortitude nourished I'll give you the names Of most of the kin Who by matrimony's door Have been mustered in There's Hoose and Matthews Smith and Polley (To seek better names Would be but folly) More Smiths, Rodencal, Verrett Covill and Jones Decker, McNealy, McCue Hill and Owens. Robinson, Mortensen, Statton, O'Day Heffernon, Hopke, Kroeser and Blaizes Thomas, Stroemmer, Pullen, Van Sickle Quammen, Barrett, Kempft, Gonyo and Tricker Halverson, Ceman, Frazer and Hurd Crueger, Miller, Walker, Chipman and Ward Nelson, Hart, White, Clinton and Cate And also Mewhirter Hallock, Hawkins and Hubbel Chipman and Carter There's Kelly and Heany, Bishop and Moon (Cheer up! the end is coming soon) And Barrager, Snyder, Straw Also a Bailor; MrBriar, Ott, Gench Weiss and Taylor These are the heads of the families That help to make up This flourishing tree.
