PO Box 1541
Waukesha WI 53187-1541

The purpose of the WCGS is to promote the study of genealogy, provide information on how to carry out a genealogical study, and offer a forum for the members with research problems who are seeking assistance.

The Waukesha County Genealogical Society (WCGS) was originally organized in September of 1967 as a group of individuals who met monthly to study genealogy.

The group decided to formalize their organization in 1981. A meeting was held in June of 1981 for the election of officers and the formation of a constitution. The constitution was formally adopted in September of 1981 and the organization became known as "The Waukesha County Genealogical Society".
