Henry B. Jackson, lawyer, was born in Naperville, Du Page Co. Ill., July 24, 1837; read law in Elgin, Ill.; came to Oshkosh in April, 1859; has been constantly engaged in practice here since. He held the office of City Attorney two terms and was twice District Attorney. He was for one year in the army during the late war of the rebellion, most of the time on Gen. Sherman's staff; he was Second Lieutenant of Co. E, 2d W.V.I. He was a student at Hiram College while James A. Garfield was an instructor in that institution. Mr. Jackson was married at Oshkosh in May, 1862, to Miss Annette Harwood, a native or Rushville, N. Y. They have four children- Jessie C., Lulu, Isadore and Heman Harwood.
