John R. Jones

John R. Jones, of the firm of Williamson, Libbey & Co., manufacturers of sash, doors and blinds; came to Oshkosh in December, 1857; employed for a few months in sash, door and blind factory; then worked at trade of carpenter and builder for two year; then he went to the Southern States, where he remained until the war broke out, when he returned to his native State, New York; remained there two years; and after another year's residence at Oshkosh, he went to Chicago, and was there two years, since which time he has been a permanent resident of Oshkosh. For the last seven years, he has had a partnership interest in the sash, door and blind factory. He was married, at Racine, Wis., in May, 1866 to Mary A. Davis, a native of Madison Co., N.Y. They have five children- Edward V., Robert R., Bessie R., Susie M. and John W. Mr. Jones is a member of the I. O. O. F., A. O. U. W. and K. of H.
