Frank Wescott, tank maker in Schmit Bros.' factory. Mr. Wescott was born
in England Dec. 24, 1839, and emigrated to America in 1860. He was a
member of the British army, and went to Halifax, Nova Scotia; remained in
the army five years and eight months; was then discharge Aug. 20, 1863. He
then went to New York City, lived there a short time, went to Chicago,
Ill., and learned the trunk maker's trade, remaining three years. Went to
Racine and followed his trade in company with Schmit Bros., being a
partner. He came to Oshkosh, Wis., in 1868, and has been there since,
engaged as above noted. He was married, in Oshkosh, Wis., May 1, 1871, to
Miss Susannah Trausch, who was born in the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg,
Germany.
