History of northern Wisconsin: containing an account of its settlement,
growth, development, and resources, an extensive sketch of its counties, cities,
towns and villages, their improvements, industries, manufactories, biographical
sketches, portraits of prominent men and early settlers, views of county seats,
etc. Chicago: Western Historical Co., 1881. p.1186 Platt M. Wright, proprietor and publisher of the Omro "Journal," established in 1864, originally called the Omro "Union," circulation about 500 copies; who also does job printing and deals in school books, stationery, etc., was born 11 September 1846 in Wrightstown, Brown County, Wisconsin. His father, Hoel S. Wright, settled in Brown County, Wisconsin, in 1833. Platt M. Wright lived there until he was seventeen years of age. They then moved to Greenville, Michigan, and was there for four years with his parents. Mr. Wright then went to Omro, Wisconsin, in 1870, and engaged in clerking about four years. He then bought a half interest in the Omro "Journal," the firm name being Kaine & Wright, and was in that company three or four years. He then bought the whole interest and has since continued alone. In 1871 he was married in Greenville, Michigan, to Miss Mary A. Johnson. In 1878 Platt M. Wright was again married, in Charlotte, Michigan, to Miss Edie Archer. He has one son living, George A. Mr. Wright has been a member of the County Board, also Police Justice, and is now Justice of the Peace.
