SARDESON:
* p16 - The patriach of the SARDESON Family, William, had been born in Lincolnshire,
England, in 1794, and emigrated with his family to America in 1851. His sons dispersed
to run various mills, including the ones in Moscow and Blanchardville.
George SARDESON settled in Blanchardville as its miller. His brother James,
eventually made his way to Argyle and the family figured prominently in its affairs.
James obituary in the Sep 25, 1914 issue of the Atlas gives his age as 84 at the time
of his death. After his wife passed away (the former Marilla SOWL THREADGOLD SARDESON)
he was remarried to Mary WRIGHT. Local survivors of James SARDESON name in the
obituary were son Charles, and daughter Mrs Warner Afflick MILLION (Josephine Marilla).
The SARDESON's were engaged in flour milling, operated a general store, and after the
arrival of the railroad, were involved in coal, feed, and lime cement businesses, with
their warehouse being located near the depot.
