Wood County Asylum - formerly in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
From The Fat Memoir - pg 115 - The latest county park is a 360 acre parcel
now called Richfield 360, formerly property of the Wood county Asylum.
It was place under parks management in 1975.

The
North Wood County Asylum opened in 1910 and operated at the County A
until 1974. The location of old records is unknown, but suggest contacting
the current Norwood Health Center, 1600 North Chestnut Avenue, Marshfield,

Clarence Ray (1890 - 1969)

Clarence was born in Ashippun Wisconsin on April 7, 1890. He resided at
Wood County Asylum from April 17, 1925 to December 4, 1928. He was transferred to
Dunn County Asylum in Menomonie, Dunn County, WI. He died Jan 1969.

John Reider (1860 - 1917)

John Reider was born in Austria in 1860 and came to this country with his
parents in 1870. He suffered a broken back 30 years prior to his death and had been insane for the
last 18 years of his life. He was an unmarried man. Mr Reider died at the Wood County Asylum at Marshfield Friday, Jan 7, 1916. His funeral was at
St. Balthasar's Catholic Church of Loyal, Clark Co, WI.
