The Pontypool Branch meets on the second and last Friday of the month starting at 7.00pm. The first of the meetings, open to members and visitors alike, hosts a visiting lecturer speaking on a topic of genealogical or local historical interest. The second meeting offers members a chance to use the extensive branch resources.

Change of Venue for Pontypool Branch

Following reports that the Red Cross Hall (please see the map below) was suffering from subsidence and would be closed Pontypool branch has found an alternate venue for our meetings. From the beginning of September we will be holding our meetings at Merchants Hill Baptist Chapel Schoolroom, Pontnewynydd. The chapel is about half a mile up the valley from the Red Cross Hall on the Pontypool to Blaenafon Rd. Entrance to the schoolroom is down a path at the side of the Chapel. There is parking close by.
