Census Records

	Glamorgan FHS 1841, 1851 and 1861 Census CDs Installing Census CD's with PC's using the VISTA Operating System These CDs can be successfully installed on computers using Microsoft Vista operating system. For ease of installation, you should first turn OFF User Account Control on your computer by going to Control Panel, selecting User Accounts, and taking the option to turn off User Account Control . This can be turned back on after the CD has been installed To install a 1851 CD purchased prior to May 2006 see additional note under the 1851 CD review The "In House" CD's should work OK on Vista. - Problem ? - "tip" Right click the CD symbol and run it from there as an administrator.
	Glamorgan 1841 Unit Price :- £ 13.00 + p&p The 1841 Census CD has, in addition to the main program, the data files in Microsoft Access 97 and 2000 as well as Adobe Acrobat both of which can be searched - Acrobat 4 Viewer is also included on the CD. Also there are a few useful "utilities" A calendar starting at 1753 which seems to go on for ever. Maps of Glamorgan showing the main districts and enlargements of local districts. 	Glamorgan 1851 Census Unit Price :- £16.00 + p&p This was the first CD ROM that the GFHS produced. There are 23,899 fully searchable records which give the piece, folio and schedule number, address, the head and relationships to the head, age, occupation and county and place of birth The results can be printed or copied to a word pad file (text) file. There are software fixes for Window versions later than Windows 95/98 To download the latest version of the software click here Please save the file to the following folder (default): C:\PROGRAM FILES\GLAMORGAN1851 i.e. overwrite the original file gl51.exe For "On Line Help" click here A New version of this CD was issued in May 2006 which works on Windows XP. If you purchase this to replace the existing version you must delete the original version and the gl51.ini file BEFORE installing the new version If you have an older version (pre-2006) of the 1851 census CD and wish to install it on a computer using Vista (see above), you should also download the software fix as described above for the CD to operate properly.
	Glamorgan 1861 Census Unit Price :- £ 21.00 + p&p Our latest Census, produced April 2003, is packed fill of features as well as the census data which is available in the internal written program as well as Access and Acrobat. A name frequency distribution graph is a very useful feature, Predictive search criteria which is very useful - the results can be exported into a .csv (comma separated variable file which can be exported into MS Excel for further analysis, There are 313,504 records on the CD. You can view alphabetical listings of Surnames Given (first) Names as well as Occupations + the map and calendar features that were on the 1841 version, and a very comprehensive "help" facility
