The Baptism Index contains approx 190,000 entries covering the period from 1569 to 1837. It is indexed by Surname and covers most of Glamorgan. The index "fields" are :- Surname, Forename, Fathers Forename, Occupation (when given), Mother, Date, Year, Address, Age and Parish.

The records on this CD have been extracted from data held in our Master Index as of October 2004. They consist primarily of baptisms recorded in parish registers, together with a small number of nonconformist registers, all of which have previously been published individually by the Society in  booklet or microfiche format

There are 347000 entries on the CD which have been indexed alphabetically by the child’s Surname, Forename, Fathers Forename, Occupation, Mothers Forename, Date, Year and Parish and can be found by clicking on the appropriate letter in the index. Each letter file has been book-marked and subdivided into various surnames to make searching easier. Please note that the spelling are as original which can vary considerably from that used today as the records span a period from 1838 – 1930

The Glamorgan Marriage index   Unit  Price :-  £ 16.00   + p&p

Although this index has been available as microfiche for some time, it is now even easier to use. It is an index of marriages which took place in parish churches across the whole of Glamorgan from 1569 - 1837, i.e. before civil registration and locating marriages can be consuming to find, especially if the couple married outside their usual parish The files are in Adobe Acrobat and are fully searchable across all fields. It is indexed by both the groom's and bride's surnames and each surname is bookmarked to make searching easier. The transcriptions indicate whether further information is available in the registers and the abbreviations are fully explained

There are over 260,000 entries on the CD, including 3770 previously unpublished Llangyfelach records, all of which have been indexed alphabetically by Surname, Forename, Year.  These can be found by clicking on the appropriate letter in the index. To assist navigation of the files they have been further bookmarked by some, but not all, popular names You can also search for the first occurrence of the name by using the search facility (binocular symbol) on the Acrobat menu bar; or you can just scroll through the file until you find the name.

The CD contains a Name Index ONLY and does NOT contain any of the actual inscriptions, for which you will have to see the various fiche/booklets publication for the individual graveyard

Each letter file has been bookmarked and subdivided into various surnames to make searching easier.
