Hollyhock PressHollyhock Press is
a small publishing house whose goal is to bring you genealogical and
historic public records of several counties along the Virginia-West
Virginia border, primarily Bath and Highland. We understand that many
genealogists do not have the resources to travel to the courthouses
in these states or even to travel to a Family History Center or library
to order and view these records on microfilm (not to mention the difficulties
encountered in trying to read the the handwriting of yesteryear on faded
film or paper). Our authors are familiar with the many spellings of
the names found in these counties and are also familiar with the handwriting
of the early county clerks, so our books may relieve you of some of
the burdens associated with finding your ancestors. Visit our site at http://www.hollyhockpress.com/ |

A BIOGRAPHY OF JOHN HART, SIGNER OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCEby Cleon E. Hammond, published by Pioneer Press. John Hart is a great grand father and ancestor to many in the Arnold Hill cemetery. His sons went to Randolph Coounty, Virginia after the Revolutionary War and they must have numerous descendants still there. The Web page by Glenn Valis contains a sketch of John Hart. Its the best book available on the signer and I recommend it to anyone interested in the colonial or Rev. war period. It is out of print, but you may be able to get it through inter-library loans, or the used market.
by Rev. Pyne has compiled the first register ever published of all known descendants of the fifty-six signers of the Declaration of Independence, one of America's most important and most beloved documents. Comes in several volumes covering different areas where descendants live. |
