September 25, 2007 - Today we have added the obituaries of Amy Belle Allender Vanscoy (1888-1954); contributed by Randy Stalnaker is the Tomblyn Funeral Home obituary and picture of Squire B. Kittle (1912-2006); also, the obituary of Thomas Allender (1840-1929) husband of Apaline Kelley Allender has been added along with a tribute poem by their niece Carrie Allender;  In the Family section, we have added a brief history and genealogy of the Thomas Allender and Apaline Kelley Family.

September 24, 2007 - New on the site is the Kelley family history and genealogy contributed by Randy Stalnaker including the wedding certificate of William and Gean Kittle Kelley and Dolbeare Kelley's death certificate; new pictures from Jeanne Russell are in her Family Photo Album; the 1927 obituary for Apaline Kelley Allender (1848-1927) has been added to the Obituary section.  During the next few days we will be adding a few more obituaries contributed by Randy Stalnaker.

July 10, 2007 - Knock on wood! It appears that your web master's computer problems and the server problems at Rootsweb have been resolved.  We have added three Kittle obituaries from the Elkins Intermountain 2006 edition located by Jeanne Russell.  On the veterans page we have added the name of Sgt. Cecil W. Kittle, C Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry.  Sgt Kittle died in the Ia Drang Valley in November 1965.  This is the battle portrayed in Mel Gibson's movie, "We Were Soldiers."  You can visit Sgt. July 1, 2007 - Well, we have had a few problems during June getting logged on to the site and getting files transferred. That seems to be straightened out now so look for periodic updates.

June 1, 2007 - Updates to the site has been in hiatus for the last few months while the web master was heavily engaged in another project.  In the coming weeks we will resume adding material that has been submitted to us over the last several months.  Below is a list of additions through December, 2006.

October 14, 2006 - Weese Revolutionary War Pension applications under our Military page. Obituaries. Thomas B. Scott, son of Benjamin T. Scott and grandson of John and Mary Scott;  James Harvey Logan, a well known and prosperous educator in Randolph County.  Mr. Logan was related to the Scott families of Randolph; John Fitzwater, Pauline McKinney and Kathleen Worthington, Kittle descendants.

October 6, 2006 - Weese Family Marriages on line under our Genealogy section;  Photo Gallery additions George and Joe Allender families, descendants of Jacob and Mary Kittle. 

August 20, 2006 - index to Randolph County Land Grants between 1753 and 1899. 

August 12, 2006 - Under Wills and Probate Records Mike Holland's brief biography of Jacob Kittle and a transcript of his will; Thomas Scott will recorded on August 14, 1865 in Randolph County.  Mike Sanderson's two generation reports on the families of George Wees and Jacob Wees, Jr.

August 6, 2006 - New photos in the Photo Gallery.  On Our Library page, we have placed a link to the West Virginia Division of Culture and History; added links on the Military page including photos of the Revolutionary War soldier Thomas Phillips.

July 16, 2006 - A family tree for the The Cool/Van Vredenberg/Kortreght Families; Abraham Kittle's Revolutionary War Service; Biography of Abraham Kittle and wife Christina Westfall, along with a list of their children;  Randy Stalnaker's picture of Joseph Hart Chenoweth, the cadet and later teacher at VMI; his story and picture at Joseph Chenoweth VMI Letters.

July 9, 2006 - The Roosa-DeJongh Families; The Roosa Family of New York; The Pels/Roosa/Van Etten/Kittle Family; Lineage of the Van Etten Family in our Genealogy section.

July 2, 2006 - Military page Mike Holland's The Kittle Family Blue & Grey, a list of men with the surname Kittle who served in the Union and Confederate armies;  1687 List of Soldiers in Esopus. Many of the pioneers of Randolph County and Arnold Hill families were descendants of the Dutch Colonist of New Amsterdam (New York). Esopus is known today as Kingston, N.Y. in Ulster County; Genealogy page Sussex Co., N.J. Marriages - a list of marriages in the Minisink and Walpek Dutch churches and Kittle Baptisms in the Minisink Dutch Church a list from the Minisink Church of Kittle children baptized between 1750 and 1816;   Scott/Kittle Family Tree.


June 26, 2006 - Members of the Primitive Baptist Church which was originally located on the site of the cemetery lot.  Also included is a list of the pastors and church officials from its founding until 1935, and an expanded history of the congregation.  Under the Military Page  the Military History of Arnold Hill Families, men who served in American Wars from Dunmore's War to the Civil War, and a list of Arnold Hill men who served as civil servants for Randolph County; Civil War Letter of Cyrus Kittle, Adjutant for the 107th Va. Regiment, to his commanding officer in June 1862; Local History page, 1777 Legislative Petition - Augusta Co.
