Amy Belle Allender Vanscoy (1888-1954)

Funeral services for Mrs. Amy Belle Allender Vanscoy, 66, of Dailey, who died last evening at 5:00 in a local hospital, will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 from the Methodist Church at Dailey. She was the wife of J.Brown Vanscoy.

The Rev. L.R. Mason, pastor of the Beverly Methodist Church will be assisted in the services by the Rev. A. Brooks Wthers of Montrose.

Interment by F.E. Runner will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mrs Vanscoy was born March 14, 1888 at Pettit, WVa., a daugher of the late Thomas and Apaline Kelley Allender.

She is survived by her husband four sons and four daughters. oy K., of Elkins; Norman C., of Akron, Ohio; C. Glenn of Dailey; Clarence H. of Hagerstown, Md.; Mrs. Hazel Shields of Weirton; Mrs. Ruby Kisner of Clarksburg; Mrs. Mary Castle of Granby, Conn.; and Mrs. June Stalnaker of Martinsville, Va.

Also two sisters, Mrs. Walter Vanscoy of Elkins, Mrs. Hickman Kelley of Parsons; 23 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Vanscoy had lived at Dailey for the past 12 years, where she was active in church and civic affairs. She formerly lived in Porterwood, Tucker County.
