Audrey Belle Kittle Pingley, 83, a former resident of Dailey and more recently a resident of Valentines Personal Care Home at Elkins, departed this life early Wednesday morning, March 30, 2005, at Davis Memorial Hospital. She had been in declining health.

Audrey Belle Kittle Pingley, 83, a former resident of Dailey, and since 1993, a resident of Valentine's Personal Care Home at Elkins joined her beloved husband, Bedford, in heaven on Wednesday morning, March 30, 2005, at Davis Memorial Hospital. She had suffered a stroke during heart surgery in 1993 and had been in declining health for the past several months.

She was born Wednesday, Feb. 15, 1922, at Beverly, a daughter of the late Charles W. Kittle and Hattie E. Flint Kittle. On Feb. 27, 1946, she was married to Bedford H. Pingley, who preceded her in death June 8, 1989.

Surviving are two sons, Randall L. Pingley of Williamsburg, Va., and Victor L. Pingley of Dailey; one stepdaughter, Brenda Miller and husband, Clarence Bud Jr., of Elkins; one brother, Norman Tommy Kittle of Ravenna, Ohio; an aunt, Mrs. Ellen Dolly of Valley Bend; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were one brother, Junior Kittle and one sister, Margueriette K. Scott.

Mrs. Pingley was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School with the class of 1940 and attended Clarksburg Business School. After completing business school, she went to Washington, D.C., where she worked for the War Department during World War II. Mr. and Mrs. Pingley were self-employed in a wholesale candy franchise and from 1951 to 1958, owned and operated Millers Restaurant at Dailey. She was then employed by the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources, where she remained for 27 years. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed her home, her children and her grandchildren. She was a member of the Valley Bend United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Saturday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Donald L. Fitzwater will officiate and interment will follow at Mount Vernon Cemetery near Beverly. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to Hospice Care Corp., 929 S. Davis Ave., Suite D, Elkins, W.Va. 26241 or to Valley Bend United Methodist Church, P.O.
