Keith R. Kittle

Keith Richard Kittle, 72, a resident of the Audra Road in Belington, departed this life at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday evening, April 29, 2003, in the Broaddus Hospital in Philippi. He had been in declining health for the past four years.

He was born May 14, 1930, a son of the late Eligah W. Kittle and Bessie E. Davis Kittle.

On Aug. 4, 1952, he was united in marriage to the former Josephine R. Suder, who survives at their home in Belington.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jimmy Kittle of Belington, and William Kittle and wife, Jill, of Virginia; two daughters, Emma Kyle and husband, Jim, of Belington, and Betty Jo Weese and husband, Jeff, of Belington; grandchildren, Amy Pomp, Melinda Weese, Lisa and Derek Kyle, all of Belington, Leslie Kittle, Delta Parks, both of Parsons, Kimberly Meadows, Michael Cornet, both of Virginia; great-grandchildren, Madeline Pomp, Michael and Christina Parks, Brittany and Trevor Kittle, Katyline Meadows and Ashley Cornett.

Also surviving are two brothers, James Westfall and wife, Phyllis, Dee Westfall and wife, Rosie, all of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Denver, Earl, Darl and Wilbert Kittle; and three sisters, Pearl Fitzwater, Cleo Rucker and Opal Poling.

Mr. Kittle attended the schools of Barbour County and retired from the Elkins Limestone plant. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 410 in Belington and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a Protestant by faith.

Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington Friday from noon until 2 p.m., the funeral hour, when services will be conducted from the funeral home parlor with Pastor Boyd Wyatt officiating. At the request of the deceased the casket will remain closed. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery where full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 44 of Philippi. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Concord Cemetery Association, PO Box 231, Belington, W.Va. 26250. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Keith Richard Kittle.
