Wanda M. Moats Weese, 61, a resident of Stalnaker Run Road, Elkins, departed this life on Tuesday evening, March 8, 2005, at her residence. She had been in declining health for the past eight months, and death was attributed to cancer.

Wanda Mae Moats Weese, 61, a resident of Stalnaker Run Road, Elkins, departed this life Tuesday evening, March 8, 2005, at her residence with her family by her side. She had been in declining health for the past eight months and death was attributed to cancer.
She was born Monday, July 5, 1943, at Moatsville, a daughter of the late Oda Benson Moats and Mable Eppie Forman Moats. On Oct. 30, 1964, she was married to Leo D. Weese, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Leo Timothy Weese of Elkins; one daughter, Cindy Weese DeMotto of Elkins; one brother, James E. Moats and wife, Alice, of East Liverpool, Ohio; one sister, Marion Reed of Junior; three grandchildren, Emily Marie DeMotto, Clarisa Ann Weese and Leo Hunter Weese.
Preceding her in death besides her parents is one brother, Donald R. Moats.
She had attended the schools of Kasson and Belington, and she had graduated from Elkins High School with the class of 1961. She had worked for Reidboard Brothers Sewing Factory for 20 years, the Beth Energy division of Bethlehem Steel for seven years, and Rauer Coal Co. for three years as a motorman. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church at Montrose where she served as secretary. She had occasionally hunted and fished with her husband, Leo. She loved her children and grandchildren and was a very good “Mammaw.”
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel Saturday at 11 a.m. Elder Velden Linn, Elder Lewis Johnson and Elder Willard Bird will officiate and interment will follow at Primitive Baptist Cemetery at Montrose.
