On February 9, 1837, John G. Manor was married to Nancy Gardner, daughter of Elisha and Mary (Parsons) Gardner. Miss Gardner was born February 14, 1810, and died April 5, 1845. John and Nancy Manor had the
following children: Charles W. Manor, October 23, 1837-?; David H. Manor, February 18, 1839-July 21, 1861; Elisha G. Manor, July 3, 1841-?; and Mary Jane Manor, June 24, 1844-January 3, 1847. Charles W. Manor and David H. Manor were both
volunteers in the Confederate army during the Civil war. David was killed at the battle of Bull Run and Charles was wounded during the same battle, at the battle of the Wilderness, at Chickahominy, and at Cedar Creek.
John G. Manor was a farmer and a miller and the merchant of a general store at Hedgesville, Berkeley County, West Virginia.

John G. MANOR was born in Berkeley County, West Virginia, on January 2, 1808, the son of David (December 12, 1776-1835) and Jane (Clark) Manor (March 1, 1784-1876).
