Berkeley County, West Virginia Biography of Charles WOLFORD

Charles WOLFORD was born in Butler County, Pennsylvania, in 1833. He was married in 1860, in Frederick County, Maryland, to Julia Freeser, who was born in that county and state in 1840. She died August 9, 1872, leaving four children: Jones Wolford, April 15, 1862-?; Charles Wolford, May 4, 1864-?; William Wolford, October 18, 1866-?; and Emma Wolford, September 8, 1868-?. Note: The article said the parents of Charles Wolford were Jacob P. and Lydia (Koontz) Freeser, but because his wife’s maiden name was Freeser, it is not known if these were her parents, the last name was incorrectly printed for his parents, or they were cousins with the same last name.

Charles Wolford was a farmer in the Arden district, with a post office address of Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia.
