| MRS. NORMA A. "NUMMY" RUTHERFORD GRAVES, 79, of Lesage, W.Va., went to sleep in the arms of Jesus Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, in St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Lesage, a daughter of the late Emory H. and Ida Mae Arthur Rutherford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Chester, Lovett, Forest and Robert Rutherford; four sisters, Wilda Scarberry, Thelma Smith, Alma Rutherford and Faye White; and a special niece, Janet F. Lewis. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Graves, who was also her best friend; a stepson, Mark Kevin Graves and his wife Mary Beth of Proctorville, Ohio; three step-grandchildren, Laura, Mason and Jacob Graves; a sister and her husband, Helen and Thomas Kingery of Huntington; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. She also leaves behind many friends and relatives to mourn her passing. Nummy was a devoted wife, loyal friend and a wonderful and caring aunt. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday Oct. 27, 2003, at Chapman's Mortuary with Pastors Jamie Jefferson, Kevin Shull and Gordon Rutherford officiating. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin Burgess, Allen Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Tommy Kingery, Jeff Adkins and Wayne Day. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003. Flowers will be appreciated or contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. | ||
