Pauline Polly Adams Starkey
Pauline Polly Adams Starkey, 82, of
Lesage, W.Va., devoted wife, daughter, mother, and
grandmother went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan.
8, 2000. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday,
January 11th, at Heck Funeral Home with Pastor Paul
Meadows officiating. Burial in Union Ridge Cemetery. She
was born Aug. 1, 1917 in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of
the late Charles W. and Golda Wilkes Adams. She was also
preceded in her death by her husband, Harry T. Starkey,
two brothers, Earl B. and Carl H. Adams; a sister-in-law,
Irma H. Adams; a son-in-law, Elwood Spurlock, Jr.; and a
niece, Wanda Adams Light. Polly was a homemaker and a
member of Sunrise United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law,
Phyllis A. Spurlock of Ona, W.Va, Mary F. and David A.
Clagg of Lesage, Carolyn Jeannie and Ronald
G. Nicholson of Ceredo, W.Va.; one brother, Fred M. Adams
of Lesage; three sisters-in-law, Anna Adams of of
Huntington, W.Va, Marie Holley of Pliny, W.Va, and
Opal McComas of Milton, WVa, special cousins, W. D.
Buddy' and Mary Wilkes of South Point, Ohio;
nephews, Carl and Phyllis Adams of Independence, Ky., and
Tom and Mary Lou Light of Huntington; seven
grandchildren, Lea and Rodney Bodmer of Glenwood, W.Va,
Tony and Kelly Spurlock of Ona, Barbie and Carl Lovins of
Huntington Brent and Sherry Clagg of Lesage, Paula and
Rodney Cremeans of Ona, Daniel and Jamie Nicholson of
Kenova, W.Va, Pam and Larry Gue of Ceredo; fourteen
great-grandchildren, Eric and Chad Bodmer, Garrett
Spurlock, Meghan, Brandi and Bryan Lovins, Steven and
Drake Clagg, Courtney and Lindsey Cremeans, Jessica and
Jonathan Nicholson, and Kristy and Sean Gue; and a host
of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends. Heck
Funeral Home, Milton, was in charge of arrangements.
