GEORGE JOSEPH CARLYLE
   George Joseph Carlyle, 77 years old, a veteran of the Union army, died at his home, 236 Twenty-fourth street West, at 6 o'clock Sunday evening. He had been ill for two years.
   He was born at Jonesville, O., Mary 7, 1847. He enlisted in the Union army in 1864, at the age of 17, serving during the remainder of the war as a member of the Second Kentucky Mounted Riflemen.
   For many years before coming to Huntington he lived at Point Pleasant. In his active years he was a superintendent of construction.
   He was a widower. He leaves seven children, two sons, Frank and Eugene of Dayton, O., and five daughters, as follows:
   Mrs. Lyda Maxwell, of Dayton, O., Mrs. George Rhodes, of Henderson, W. Va., and Misses Louise, Catherine and Ann Carlyle of Huntington.
   Funeral services will be held at Henderson Monday morning.
