WELL KNOWN CABELL COUNTY MAN SUCCUMBS.

Father of Melrose Boys of Huntington, Was Civil War Veteran--
Funeral Sunday.

Andrew Hern Melrose, 76, for many years a prominent figure in the annals of Cabell county died Thursday at his home four miles south of Huntington. He was the father of eleven children, ten of whom, with the widow survive. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at the Melrose homestead, interment to be made in the family burial plat.
Mr. Melrose was a veteran of the Civil War, having served with the Eighteenth Indiana Infantry. For several years he was a school teacher in Lincoln and Wayne counties, and has ben connected with most of the community welfare projects in Cabell. The following children survive: Homer, Alva, Walter, Bascum, Robert H., and Milo Melrose, all of this county, and four daughters, Mrs. Effie Davis, Mrs. Katherine Morrison and Miss Sadie Melrose, all of this county, and Mrs. Irene Bailey, of Bluefield, West Virginia.
