FERGUSON, Samuel J.
PROMINENT CITIZEN DEAD
SAMUEL J. FERGUSON RECENTLY STRICKEN WITH PARALYSIS, DIES
Samuel J. Ferguson, a prominent citizen of Wayne county, who was recently stricken with paralysis, is dead. Ferguson was born January 27, 1832, hence had recently passed his seventy-first year. His grandfather came from Virginia to Wayne just one hundred years ago, and the Fergusons and their connections are numerous in Wayne county as well as in Pike county, Kentucky. During the Civil war he was a gallant confederate soldier in Company K, Eighth cavalry. After the war he served as a justice of the peace many years. He was highly respected and one of the most substantial citizens of Wayne county. -The Huntington Advertiser, Thursday, June 18, 1903
