POTEET, Mrs. Lizzie L. Mrs. Lizzie L. Poteet, 851 Adams avenue died at her home late Wednesday night after a brief illness. Mrs. Poteet is survived by her husband and four children. Etta, Maggie and Henry Poteet of this city and Mrs. A. L. Jenkins of Dayton, Ky. Funeral service will be held at her home at two p. m. Friday afternoon with Rev. M. L. Wood officiating. The pallbearers will be Claude Swann, Homer Swann, Leslie Swann, Floyd and Lloyd Workman and John Cromwell. -The Herald-Dispatch, Friday, May 12, 1922

POWERS, Mrs. Arnett C. Funeral services for Mrs. Arnett C. Powers, 23 years old of 1452 Fourth avenue, who died at the Guthrie hospital Tuesday morning at 8:15 o'clock following a few days illness of pneumonia, will be conducted at Johnson Memorial M. E. church, South, this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. A. M. Martin, pastor of Emmanuel M. E. church, South, will officiate and interment will be made in Spring Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Powers, who was the daughter of Lee D. Newman, city commissioner, was a member of Johnson Memorial church and was a graduate of Huntington high school, graduating in 1919. She was born in Huntington, January 25, 1902. She was married to Mr. Powers in Columbus, Ohio, September 27, 1920.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her father, L. D. Newman; her mother, Mrs. Margaret Kirk of Huntington; and a son, Arnett Clinton, Jr., 3 years old, and a daughter, Dorothy Loraine, 14 months old. -The Herald-Dispatch, Friday Morning, February 20, 1925
