SCALES, Peter Buffington — Seventy-four years old, pioneer resident of Huntington, will be buried tomorrow. Funeral services will be conducted from
the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. R. Gillispie, 2751 Elmwood avenue, at 2:30 oclock. Burial will be at Spring Hill cemetery. Mr. Scales died at the home
of his daughter Wednesday afternoon. In additions to Mrs. Gillispie he is survived by three grandchildren, Stannard,
Emma Louis and Elizabeth. -The

CIVIL WAR VETERAN DIES AT SON'S HOME
E. Scarberry, 80, died at the residence of his son, E. J. Scarberry, 807 Twenty-seventh
street, at nine o'clock last night. Mr. Scarberry was a native of Ohio but removed to West Virginia when a lad and had lived in Cabell county for
several years. He was a veteran of the Civil War, having served with the Union forces during the four years of the conflict between the North and
South. He is survived by one son, E. J. Scarberry, of this city, and three daughters, Mrs. Mollie Hollie, of Huntington; Mrs. Eliza Porter, of
Columbus, Ohio; and Mrs. Stella White, of LeSage. Funeral arrangements
