Tom Lambert
b. 27 Jan 1839, Lawrence Co., OH - d. 30 Jun 1863
Son of Thomas Lambert & Mary "Polly" Sampson
Buried (see notes)
Submitted by Virginia Cisewski

Note: Tom Lambert was one of the youngest of John Henry Lambert's brothers. That makes him Fred B. Lambert's great uncle. Tom's unit was marching toward Gettysburg and Tom was left at a hospital in the Washington DC area to be cared for while they continued northward to Gettysburg and into the history books.
Tom died in that hospital just a couple days later and was buried there. Since his unit had not seen action for some time prior to Tom's death, It is believed he died of disease, rather than wounds, but this has not been confirmed. Another cousin says Tom's remains were later taken home to Lawrence County, OH, but that's also unconfirmed. -Virginia Cisewski
