Doddridge County,
West Virginia,

was created on February 4, 1845, from parts of Harrison, Lewis, Ritchie, and Tyler Counties. Records for residents of the county prior to that date will be found in the parent counties or the grandparent counties (Monongalia and Ohio counties).

The West Virginia
GenWeb Project

was organized in June of 1996.   Our ideal is to create a single reference point for all counties in West Virginia, where collected databases would be stored, and volunteers would handle queries and posts.
