WILL OF JOHN HAYZLETT
In the name of God, Amen, I John Hayzlett of the County of Kanawha and State of Virginia being fable of Body but of sound mind and memory, do make, ordain, and constitute, this Instrument signed with my own hand, my last will and testament, revoking all others.. Imprimis .. I bequeath my Soul to God who gave it and my body to the Earth from whence it came. Secondly, I give to y beloved wife Anne Hayzlett all my Estate both real and personal (except the Legacies hereinafter mentioned) for and during her natural life with the full and free liberty to dispose of the same as the she may deem proper and necessary, And I do appoint her my sole Executrix. Having given to my three children Andrew Hayzlett, Sarah Billups, and James B. Hayzlett Sundry Articles. It is my will that my son Washington T. Hayzlett have a horse saddle and Bridle such as may be agreed on.
In witness whereof I have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this twenty third day of September in the year of Christ Eighteen hundred and thirty. Witnesses by Andrew Pauley, Samuel Priestley, James J. Fraughan.
At a court held for Kanawha County the 8th day of November, 1830.
The foregoing Last Will & Testament of John Hayzlett decd was presented in court proved by Andrew Pauley & Saml Priestley and ordered to record. Teste. A. W. Quarrier, Clk
