Nancy C. (STORY) Adkins
Searching for information re: Francis STORY who married Elizabeth INGRAM Dec. 1785 in Greenbrier Co. They were in Kanawha Co. 1788. They are listed on the 1810 Kanawha Co. federal census located in the CABIN CREEK area. Can anyone tell me anything about this area of Kanawha Co.? I have NEVER been able to locate FRANCIS STORY or his wife Elizabeth INGRAM after the 1810 census. Did they die there? Is there any cemeteries in that area? Were they killed by Indians? If anything has any information that can help me I would certainly appreciate the help. on 5:55 PM 12/13/2000

I have been trying to seek out information on Fort Hughes/or Hugheston Fort. I keep finding the same references to Fort Hughes as the birth place of one of my ancestors a Nancy Hughes b.abt 1776 at Fort Hughes. The story handed down is that her father was Thomas Hughes b.1740 Bend of Gauley, Bracken Bend( which I can find no refernce to in the History of WV/VA) and that he was a commander of some rank at Fort Hughes.
