JOHN W. CRACRAFT was born in Mahoning Co OH in 1839 and by 1882 was in Charleston as an attorney. Does anyone know anything about John and his family? I also found a reference to the "well known" law firm of Smith and Cracraft in 1866 in Charleston. In the posted funeral home records on the Kanawha County site, there is an Aaron Moore (Zeak) listed whose place of birth is Clintwood WV. I believe this should be Clintwood VA, and if so, he is almost certainly a member of the Moore family that I'm researching. Aaron was one of our most used family names, and many of the Moores married into the Phillips families in Clintwood, VA (Dickenson Co.) A brother, Ervin James, born in KY, is also listed in those records as well as Aaron's wife Lizzie, and it states that she was born in VA. The places of birth for all three fit the known traveling patterns of some members of this family. If anyone can help me on this, PLEASE write to me. on 8:47 AM 01/02/2000

I'm wondering if there are any descendants of a Josiah Booker and Mary Jane Linn who were married August 1849 in Kanawha County. Because I have not found a marriage record for Josiah B. Rucker and Mary Jane unknown I wonder if Josiah's name was written down incorrectly. But if Josiah Booker did exist, then I can rule this theory out. on 8:34 AM 01/15/2000
Surnames: POMEROY of Kanwaha and Boone County WV. Looking for James Sr., James Jr. and their family from Boone County. Their son Seth Pomeroy and his wife Alexes West from Kanawha County.
