Looking for information on Mary Elizabeth BATTEN, born in Roane County in 1902. First married to Walter GIBBS and had at least one child, Richard. Later (after 1922) married to a man with the surname JARRETT. They had at least two children, Lulu Belle and Buster (may be nicknames). Lulu Belle was last seen in Charleston in the early 1940's. I am looking for "packet boat" passengers lists (circa 1900). This service provided transportation between Charleston and Pittsburgh, PA. This is of interest to me because my great-grandmother (Grace Carson COPENHAVER wife of William "Floyd" COPENHAVER) relocated to Dunlevy PA (Monongahela Valley, Washington County). This generated the Copenhaver clan of Washington County, PA of which I am a part. "Floyd" remained in the Kanawha Valley (Elk District, Lick Branch, Little Sandy) and married Flora Gibson. A packet boat named "The Kanawha" did make several trips to Pittsburgh during this time. Hoping for success. The actual date of this event is very important in our genealogy timeline. on 8:56 PM 12/4/98

I am Michael H. Clendenen, son of Vincent M. Clendenen of Charleston, WVa. His father was Allen M. Clendenen, born 1879. As far as I know, my ggf was Ballard P. Clendenen born 12/6/1855 and gggf was John B. Clendenen who was married to Elizabeth. I am trying to verify the line from Allen Mason back and add any that can be identifed. I have been told that the line follows Archibald and not Charles. Thanks for any help. I am living in Taiwan and do not have access to many documents that are not on the web.

Recently I moved to St. Albans. While moving in my home, I found a marriage certificate in a frame. I took it out of the frame and it appears to be an original document. The names on the certificate are Daniel L. Curry of Bridgeport, WV and Augusta Susan Fox of Flemington, WV. They were wed on the 14th of July in Oakland, MD by Archibald Moon. The reason I'm writing you is that I would like to find a decendant of this family to return this document to. Would you be able to help me find someone from this family? I am searching for the surname (or first married name of an Elizabeth?). She was my Great-Step Grandmother. Died in the late 1940's. She was last married to Samuel P Robinson and lived on Sixth Av, the West Side of Charleston. Their only daughter was Mary Jane, but Elizabeth had other children. Back in my mind, she had been a Jarrett. Ada and Royal Jarrett were either her son or daughter, but am unable to find any survivors for them. I am looking for any information about Samuel RUSSELL, he was born @1820 in Va and is found on the 1850/60/70/80 Census of Kanawha County living near Forks of Coal River. He married SIRENA TURLEY in 1848 and they had 6 children, Lafayette M, Francis B. (Bun) they both died of typhoid fever in 1900, Daniel Jackson (Jack) and girls were Mary Jane (Molly) married a Smith and then Franklin P Griffith, Martha Ann Gelia (Delia) married Oscar Richardson, and Edna married Ralph Horton. Sirena died in about 1863/64 and Samuel became a Doctor of medicine and he remarried. He married Nancy Browden COBB and they had three daughters together, LOTTIE, LILLIA, and MAGGIE. Dr Samuel Russell died in 1883 and Nancy died in 1889. on 7:46 AM 12/20/98
