Researching the BUSH family. Joseph W. BUSH age 22, from Kanawha..married Mary Mynes age 19, from Putnam Co., in 1881. Think the siblings of Joseph were James, Reece, Arnetta and an unknown sister. Need information on the BUSH family. Arnetta BUSH b1865 married Charles WHITE b1845. Arnetta was the second wife of Charles. They had the following children: Ethel, Bluford, Florence, Roscoe, Leonard, Zella and Zilpha. This family moved to Cabell Co. after 1905. on 5:35 PM 1/4/99

Looking for other LOFTUS/LOFTIS researchers. My CATHERINE LOFTUS was born abt 1841 supposedly in NC: she married FLEMING ESCUE/ESQUE abt 1860 - Kan. Co Wv. I have no information on her parents, however there is a PARMELIA LOFTUS in the Kanawha co census; age 45. I would like to know if this is Catherine's mother. There is also a Vienna Loftus: age 18 and George Loftus; age 28, George Loftus married Martha ?. These could be siblings of my Catherine. MY Grandfather, Londus Turner worked in a coal mine "up Davis Creek". He died in 1927, on Spring Hill Mt. I have a picture of him, his brother and about 30 other miners all dressed up in ties, standing on railroad cars. My mother said that is the way they got to the mine. She said the railroad went up Davis Creek to the mine. This would be in Kanawha or Boone County. Does anyone have a list of mines in this area? on 6:15 PM 1/6/99

Looking for information on William Harrison TURNER born Feb. 20,1863 in Kanawha Co. and Jennie STONE. They had atleast 4 children born in the county. Nellie born Aug. 14,1892 (my Grandmother). Stella and Della (twins) born June 24,1894 and Otner C. born Nov.11,1898. I lost all traces of Jennie Stone after Otner C. Birth. William and the children moved to Hancock County W.Va in 1900. I know very little on Jennie STONE. There was 1 more child Mammie born in Kanawha Co. but I don't have proof or exact date yet. on 8:22 AM 1/9/99

I'm looking for two relatives that where living in Charleston area about 1945. I'm looking for Peggy Ann ( B: 7/20/1931)and Betty Lou ( 1/22/1937) Nelson. Their mother was Viriginia Delaney Earl and she married Lloyd Clayton Nelson. The girls were born in Wood County, W.V. Lloyd died about 1945 and his probate papers say the girls were in the Charleston Area. I'm not sure if Virginia and Lloyd were still married at the time. Virginia Nelson, I believe remarried somone named Jones probably in the 1940's, there in Kanawha County. I don't know if the girls names would have been changed, so I don't know if I'm looking for Nelson's or Jones. I'm trying to find the two girls, and figure they are probably alive. But not sure of their names married or not. I would have suspected they may have married in Kanawha County about 1948-1960. on 8:53 AM 1/10/99

My grandfather ORVAL O. STRICKLAND was born in Kanawha County, WV in 1916 (died Jan 9, 1963). He married BERTHA NEFF (born 1919 in Nicholas Co., WV; died Jan 8,1988 in TN). I am looking for his family. All the information that I have is from my grandfather's obituary in the news paper. It lists his father as MACKEN STRICKLAND (or Max) and his mother SRENA NIDA. At the time of my grandfather's death, MACKEN was still alive. The obituary also listed living brothers and sisters: HARVEY STRICKLAND (of Elkview), DENZEL STRICKLAND (of Sissonville), VERNA STRICKLAND (or Vernoy of Falling Rock), PEARL STRICKLAND SEABOLT (of Falling Rock), EDNA STRICKLAND GARNES (of Charleston), BETHEL STRICKLAND NIDA (of Looneyville), FLORENCE STRICKLAND REYNOLDS (of Clendenin). I would like to make contact with any of my distant cousins to exchange information about MACKEN or SRENA- such as their birth, marriage, and death dates. Does anyone know this family. Richard GUILL born in Pr. Ed. Co., Va on 15 June 1825 died 22 Nov. 1904 in Charlestown W. VA. Married Lovisa PRICE 10 Dec. 1851. They had the following children: 1. James S. Guill who died young. 2. Robert GUILL-no data. 3. John H. GUILL b. 6 Sept. 1856. 4. Helen GUILL b.22 Sept. 1851. 5. Albert J. GUILL b. 6 Aug. 1862 married Willie HENSLEY. 6. Lewis F. GUILL b. 28 Oct. 1865 d. 1926. 7. Richard GUILL no data. The family appears in Kanawha Co., W. VA. abt 1850 along with a King Sheperd. Albert J. states that his father was of “Scotch” descent and that he left Pr. Ed. when his mother married a man named OWENS. The Sheperd’s and Guill’s are related by marriage. Could this family be related to Alexander GUILL 3rd who was married to a Swann and died abt 1840? on 6:52 AM 1/19/99

They had a son name George Washington Lavender and he married a Pearl Ferrell and they lived in Chelyan. George died about 1954 in Chelyan. I am searching for information regarding Charles Edwards Anderson (my paternal greatgrandfather). According to family members he was an editor at the Charleston Daily Mail sometime in the early part of the 1900´s. He had a son, Bert Walker Anderson, born 1912, and my father, Charles Edwards Anderson II was born on March 26, 1932 in Kanawha County (I have a birth certificate). Anyway, I am trying to locate any descendents of Julia BIERIE, who was alive in 1939, and probably lived well into the 1940s or 50s. Julia and Antone were both born in Jumet Belgium (many of the Belgian immigrants were from Jumet), and Julia probably lived near other Belgian glassworker immigrants in Charleston. on 7:40 AM 1/30/99
