My gggrandfather, Andrew JARRETT, was born in VA/WVA @1814 and settled in Hancock Co. IN by the early 1830's. Other JARRETTS from VA/WVA in the area are Neri JARRETT,b. @ 1812 Robeson JARRETT, b. @1810 and Owen JARRETT b. @1804. I feel sure that there is a relationship between all of these Jarretts, but do not yet know if they are brothers. cousins or what. There are many early settlers in Hancock Co. IN from Kanawha Co. and I know that there were many JARRETTS in Kanawha co.

My GGrandfather Daniel Shea/Oshea was born either June or Jan of 1829
in county Cork Ireland. He was at one time
married to a Sarah Stark. They lived and owned land in Kanawha county.
The other things I know about Daniel are that he lived for a period of
time in Fayette co. wva during 1880-1900 and was
also married to a Pauline Vickers. In the two marriages I believe
Daniel had several children, Joseph Bruce, William ,
Jack and Minnie also Nora, Thomas, Amanda , Edward and Mary. He came
from county cork in 1850. Does this match
any of your family. I am going to Ireland in May and very anxious to
find out more about the town Daniel came from. on 5:10 PM 5/6/98

I'm trying to identify the parents, siblings, & ancestors of SAMUEL
HANNA,b. abt 1793 in PA, & migrated to Kanawha Co. (W)VA sometime before 1828
where he m. RUTH HUDDLESTON (abt. 1808) on 14-Feb-1828. Children from
this union were John, William, Van B., George H., Elizabeth, Robert,
Samuel, & Margaret J. I'm directly descended from this line, & willing
to share data with anyone having information on the Kanawha Co. HANNA's.
Also desire info on Ruth's tie into the HUDDLESTON line.

Does anyone have proof that Thomas BESS born 3 Sept 1909 in Institute, Kanawha Co was the son of George Phillip BESS and Isabelle ANDERSON? Have found a Robert Thornton BESS as their son with the same birth date and dying 26 March 1962, burial was in Grandview Memorial in Dunbar, Kanawha Co. Was Thomas & Robert maybe twins? on 5:13 PM 5/16/98

I am looking for information that supposedly came from a member's family chart of the Kanawha Valley Genealogica Society. I am interested in Burwell Burchett, born in 1745 in Virginia; married Mary Fannon; died January 17, 1779 and had a son. I am trying to discern whether this might be the grandfather of a Burwell Burchett who is part of my family tree and is listed in the 1810 tax records and the 1830 census of Lee County (southwest) Virginia. Any help would be appreciated.

My grandfather, GORY HENRY HARRISON FRAZIER, was born July 30, 1888 in
Gallipolis, ( Gallia County ) Ohio. He married VICIE SMITH around 1937 -
1944 in Kanawha County. Both lived in Kanawha County all their married
lives. Grandfather died in 1983 and grandmother died 1948/49. My mother
was 4 years old at the time. My grandparents even owned land in Kanawha
County. My grandmother, VICIE SMITH, was a full blooded Cherokee Indian. My
grandmothers mothers name is AMERICA JANE and she died in the 1940's in
Kanawha County as well. My mothers name is CAROLYN SUE FRAZIER, she was
born there April 28, 1944. She married a Mr. Greene and then married my
father JAMES CURTIS MCLEAN in Columbus, Ohio. My name is RUTH MARIA MCLEAN
and I was born January 14, 1969 in Columbus, Ohio. on 8:27 AM 5/24/98

Looking for ionformation on the parents of my ggrandfather, William
Burdett (Byrdette) Jarrett. He was born 14 Sept 1843 to John and
Catherine "Katie" Price who are both believed to have been born in
Kanawha Co. According to family records John was b. 22 June 1816 and
Catherine on 11 Feb 1824. I need to confirm these dates and would like
marriage date. They are both said to be buried in Kanawha Co. so I need
to confirm this as well. I also desire information as to who their
parents were. There is some indication that John's family came from
Greenbrier Co. I believe his father's name was Owen. Any information
of either the JARRETT or PRICE families would be very much appreciated.

am looking for information of my Uncle Paul J. Stringer who married a
lady names Mae (last name unknown - may have been of American Indian
descent). Would like a marriage record - probably between 1910-1914 and
a death record for Mae Stringer who died in the late 1920s. They had
four children Pauline born ca. 1915, Lillian born ca. 1918 and Richard
