I have 2 memory books that belong to Mary Katherine Colborn from Charleston High School 1927-1931, there are many items in them such as photos, locks of hair tied w/ ribbon, postcards & many school memories with hundreds of names, lots of photos of friends along with articles about them in the school paper, poems that Mary Colborn had written & published, etc. I would like to find Mary Katherine Colborn if she is still living or some of her relatives or decendants. Steliff, Sara Elizabeth born 11 Sept 1870 Henry Co WVA parents: William and Eliza Hill Steliff Son Gilbert A. Lyon born Sept 26, 1887 Charleston WVA Steliff was believed to be married to James Lyon and also had another son (Luthor Lyon)several years later perhaps in Charleston. James Lyon is reputed to have been the son of a wealthy plantation owner in WVA and died approximately 1890-93 accidentally kicked by a horse. Found all the Harless except for one set of children by first marriage of Fred and the live in another state. Now I am completely stopped. Have everything to present, can't get connection to ancestory. I have George Furman (was looking for Ferman--wroooong) Harless, his dad was John Harless married to Mitilda Williams. We are possibly related to the Johann and Anna Margaret Priese that came to this country in 1738 OR we could be from the next set that came in 1812. Would somebody please give me info on John, every one I have found is not married, wrong wife, wrong, birth date etc., etc., They were a prolific bunch of men and change wives like socks. I recently found an old photograph of a young girl named Hatie Neff. Below her name was written, "Gone but not forgotten, born March 1902, died October 1918." I found the photograph inside the wall of the house I grew up in, while helping my father demolish the house. The house was located on Second Creek Road in Sissonville WV. It was originally built in the early 1940's by Robert "Pete" Breech Reed, my great-uncle and twin of my grandfather Joseph B. Reed. Pete Reed's wife's name was Juanita Adkins (maybe Atkins). The house was sold to James "Buddy" Joseph Reed in the late 40's or early 50's. My parents, Paul & Ruth Breeden purchased the house in 1969, and owned it until we demolished it on November 7, 1998. The house in which I found the photograph has always been owned by a relative of my mother (maiden name Reed & oldest daughter of Joseph & Radie Reed). But yet, no one in my family knows the name "Neff" or any history of Hatie Neff, or how a photograph of a girl who died in 1918 ended up inside of a wall of a house built over 20 years later. My goal is to find out who Hatie Neff is, and her relationship to the Reed family. I would like to give the photograph to a living descendant. Please advise if you can assist me. on 5:22 PM 11/19/98

I am looking for information on Charles and Margaret (SIEREN) CONRATH. He petitioned for naturalization in Kanawha County on December, 1879. He was born in Bavaria, Germany and immigrated in 1869. He married Margaret in Pa., I believe she was born there. He was naturalized in Lawrence County, Ohio in 1883. I have no idea how long he was in W.VA., or when he left there to go to Ohio. HASTINGS..Simon Hastings married Sarah Martin in Kanawha Co.Va in 1818. He is the only Hastings in Kanawha in 1820. In 1830 there are three Hastings in the census: John., Hiram, and Simon. I am trying to establish the relationship between these three families. Hiram married Sarah Bush in Greenup in 1828. He returned to Greenup in the 1840, 1850, and 1860 census. His daughter, Roxy Ann Hastings married John T. Colegrove in Greenup in 1848. Can anyone help me? Thanks.
