looking for my g-grandfather, James Henry Day, and g-grandmother, Sarah Day. They were raised in mining towns in West Virginia in the late 1890s and early 1900s. My grandmothers name was Alice Day b: 5 Sep 1882 in Pomeroy Ohio, but raised in West Virginia.

Looking for info on gf John Daniel Oates. I do know he was a glass blower either at Whittamore Glass Or Dunbar Glass. He married Helen Elizabeth Mathia in Alexanderia Va 11-27-19. They had 5 children, Frank Stephen{my dad}, John Raymond, Doloras,Olga Elionor & Frances Patricia. ggf was Frank S Oates he had 2 other daughters, Estele & Lillian. I think Estele married a James Rooney,had a daughter Estele Hannahora who i think married a Stewart and Alma Dawson{stewart}&Vere Stewart,who still live in Dunbar are related. I have no info on my ggm except for the name Hannoroha or Tierney.

I'm trying to find out where I can get information on Coal Mine records. My grandfather worked in a cola mine in Cabin Creek around 1920's or 1930's. They had a child and It died. I'm trying to find out where it is buried and where they lived. I don't know where the coal mine was other than Cabin Creek. Can anyone help? on 6:14 AM 10/13/99

PENNINGTON. Looking for any descendants of William M. Pennington (1848-1926) and Almeda (Almedia) Farley (1852-1929) of Davis Creek, Kanawha Co. Children were Louise(a), George W., William E., Julia E., Catherine J., Jesse N., James, Oskar Frank, Pearl, Mary J., and Herbert. I am a great-granddaughter of their son, Oskar Frank Pennington, and his first wife, Myrtle Lee Hodge (married Nov 22, 1902). I hope someone can tell me what happened to my great-grandfather, whose last known whereabouts was Boston, MA, and more about his first wife, Myrtle Lee Hodge, whom he had abandoned in Charleston by 1910. I am looking to confirm the parents of Lewis James Wilson b.12-1852.His brother being Samuel. I looked up info. at the Geneology Library at the Capitol building and the best I could find was John and Mary Trent Wilson as a possibility according to census records of1860. Lewis James was married to Mary (Molly) Cassaday from Kentucky 11-28-1877.
