Robert J. Blake, 23 October 1996: Looking for the parents of Nicholas LEWIS (b. 11 JUN 1803 in VA, d. 12 JUN 1882 in Muncie, IN) and Susan KIMBLE (b. cir 1801). They were married 15 APR 1824 in Pendleton County, WV. They lived many years in Hardy County and raised seven or so children there before migrating to Indiana.

Joy Gilchrist, 31 October 1996: Morton's History of Pendleton says that Joseph BENNETT Jr. (ca 1732-1808) was married to Hannah SLEASON. This is likely incorrect. Other sources say she was Hannah ELLSWORTH while still others claim she was Hannah STARNES. One source even gives Hannah's birth as 4 Aug 1734 in Boutetourt Co, VA and another gives the same date but says Rowan Co, NC.I have never seen any evidence for these dates or places.It's possible that Joseph could have been married twice and both wives were named Hannah. "Milly" was my 4th g. grandmother. Some resources have claimed that "Joly" was the maiden name of Joseph's wife. Incorrect. I viewed the original will in the Pendleton County courthouse a few weeks ago. Her first name is definitely "Joly." Does anyone know her maiden name? Also seek to correspond and share with any descendants.
