Pauline Hoover, 86, of Brandywine, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.
Mrs. Hoover was born Sept. 22, 1916, in Sugar Grove and was a daughter of the late Boyd and Eva Mitchell Hoover.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Sugar Grove.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Thelma and Harold Puffenbarger of Harrisonburg, VA; a grand son and his wife, Kevin and Nancy Puffenbarger, Harrisonburg, VA.; a brother, Earl Hoover, Harrisonburg, VA; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Luther and Mary Hively of Brandywine, with whom she lived.
On Oct. 12, 1935, she was married to Elmer Boyd Hoover, who preceded her in death Feb. 13, 1988. She was also preceded in death by a son, Eugene Hoover who died Jan. 28, 1970; and a brother, Johnny Hoover.
Funeral services will be held today at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Sugar Grove at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dana Holter officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery.
The family received friends on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 at Calvary Lutheran Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin.
Hansel Bennett, 90
Hansel Bennett, 90, of Hurricane, and formerly of Whitmer, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at Teays Manor in Hurricane.
Mr. Bennett retired from the U.S. Forest Service and was Protestant by faith.
His wife, Ruth Bennett, preceded him in death Nov. 12, 2001.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Jones of Rockville, MD, and Doris Schaefer of Salem, OR; two sons, Wayne Bennett of Eleanor and Frank Bennett of Hinton, VA; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death was one son, Glenn Bennett.
The Rev. Joe Mininger conducted the funeral 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial was at the North Fork memorial Cemetery in Riverton.

Roxanna R. Hilbert, 53
Roxanna Racca Hilbert, 53, of Hanover, MD, formerly of Franklin, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, in Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Hilbert was born in Revere, MA, on Dec. 16, 1948, a daughter of Anna Lynn Simpson Racca and the late Manuel Racca.
She was a hairdresser before marrying Glenn Hilbert on May 20, 1970.
She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Marion Frances Racca; and a brother, James Manuel Racca.
Left to mourn her passing are her mother and husband; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard William and Amy Hilbert; one granddaughter, Samantha; one daughter, Barbara Hilbert; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ella and LeRoy Makely, and Jaunita and Charles Rexrode; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Wanda Showalter, and Tom and Marianne Racca, along with a host of relatives and friends.
Family and friends were received at the funeral home in Glen Burnie, MD, on Friday night, Sept. 20, from 6-9 p.m. The funeral service was conducted at Severn Baptist Church in Severn, MD, Saturday morning, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. Interment followed at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
