Marvin Byrne Rexrode
Marvin Byrne Rexrode, 82, of Fort Seybert died on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Rexrode was born on Jan. 26, 1925, in Fort Seybert and was a son of the late Noah Marvin Rexrode and Tressie Byrne Boggs Rexrode.
He owned and operated Shenandoah Taxidermy for 60 years. He was a farmer, and since 1948 had raised turkey and later turkey layers for Wampler Foods and more recently for the Virginia Poultry Growers Co-op. He was a member of the Fairview-Bethel United Methodist Church, the West Virginia Farm Bureau and the West Virginia Poultry Association.
On Oct. 29, 1950, he married Eleanor Somers Rexrode, who survives.
Also surviving are his stepmother, Shirley Propst Pitsenbarger Rexrode of Brandywine; two sons, Michael Rexrode and wife, Tracey, and Kenton Rexrode and wife, Angie, all of Fort Seybert; a brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Hicle Rexrode of Summersville; a sister-in-law, Margaret D. Rexrode of Brandywine; a brother-in-law, Jim Dove of surfside Beach, SC; and a step granddaughter, Tiffany Reynolds of Fort Seybert.
He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Melody Ann Rexrode; one brother, Frederick Rexrode; and one sister, Mary Belle Dove.
Pastor Mark James conducted the funeral Friday at the Fairview-Bethel United Methodist Church in Fort Seybert. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery in Fort Seybert.

Bonnie Geneva Biby Shirk, 87, of Baltimore, MD, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at Franklin Woods Nursing Home, Baltimore, MD.
Born Nov. 28, 1920, in Seneca Rocks, she was a daughter of the late Francis Biby and Bessie Painter Biby.
Mrs. Shirk retired as an office worker at the Esskay Meat Plant in Baltimore, MD. She was a member of Chesaco United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Herman Dennis Shirk, preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Karen Porcella of Baltimore, MD; and one son, Bobby Jack Shirk of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Priscilla Teter of Seneca Rocks; a brother, Joseph Biby of Charlottesville, VA; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Chaterine McMillion, Margaret Landis and Faye Kennedy.
Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, with Rev. Earl Bible officiating. Burial will be at North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton.
Funeral arrangements were also by Rosedale funeral Home, Baltimore, MD.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
Geneva S. Wilfong
Geneva Swadley Wilfong, 83, of Brandywine died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.
Mrs. Wilfong was born Sept. 27, 1924, in Virginia and was the daughter of the late William C. Swadley and Lucindia Rexrode Swadley.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Brandywine Extension Homemakers club. She was Christian by faith and attended Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren.
On March 21, 1944, she married Paul Wilfong, who preceded her in death Jan. 3, 2004.
She is survived by a son, Bernard Dale Wilfong and wife, Carolyn of Brandywine; a daughter, Patricia Ann Bodkin and husband, Bobby of Brandywine; a half sister, Norma Hoover of Timberville, VA; four grandchildren and spouses, Dale and Paula Wilfong, Tamara and Rudy Mitts, Melissa and Jammy Ruddle and Andrea and Carl Williams; and seven great-grandchildren, Bradley Wilfong, Anthony Henderson, Miranda Henderson, Bryan Mitts, Bethany Mauzy, Jessica Ruddle and Emily Ruddle.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, William B. Swadley.
The funeral was held Saturday at the Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren in Brandywine with the Rev. Harold Cullers and Patrick Godfrey officiating. Burial was at St. Michael's Church Cemeter, sugar Grove.

John Franklin May, 56, of Fort Seybert died Jan. 15, 2008, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg, VA.
Born Feb. 9 1951, he was the son of Durwood Earl May and Betty Jane Conrad May of Fort Seybert.
Mr. May worked at Sugar Grove Navy Base and Hanover Shoe Company. He was a1969 of Franklin High School, attended Bethlehem church of the Brethren and was a member of Fairview Bethel United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his parents, is one sister, Mary Beth May of Fort Seybert.
Funeral arrangements, under the direction of the Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin, were incomplete at press time.
