Norma Helmick, 82
Norma Harper Helmick, 82, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Monday, January 30, 2012, at Almost Homeprivate nursing home.
Mrs. Helmick was born in 1929, in Onego, the daughter of the late Mervin and Alta Harper.
She worked at Schoeman’s for many years and more recently at Amoco Foam for 12 years, retiring in 1996.
Mrs. Helmick was a member of Shenandoah Valley Baptist Church.
Her husband, Rupert L. Helmick, whom she married on May 13, 1946, in Oakland, Maryland, survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Wanda Smoke and husband, Holmes ,of Winchester, VA, Wilda Jean Coogleof Bel Air, Maryland; three sons, Gary R. Helmick and Ronnie R. Helmick, both of Winchester, VA and Barry M. Helmick and his wife, Rebecca, of Bunker Hill; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and a brother, Doan Harper of Harrisonburg, Virginia.
She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Ronnie R. Helmick II, a sister and four brothers.
A funeral service will be conducted today at 11:00 AM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester,VA, with Pastor Gene Jones and Pastor Vernon Bray officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Dorothea F. Bowers
Mrs. Dorothea F. Bowers, 80, of Franklin, WV passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at her home.
She was born February 26, 1931 at Franklin, WV and was the daughter of the late Willie C. Simmons andDorothy Hammer Simmons.
A 1949 graduate of Franklin High School, she had worked for Dr. Richard Boggs and Dr. H. Byrd Teter. Shewas a member of Laurel Hill Church of Christ and the West Virginia Farm Bureau.
On December 22, 1951, she married Dyer Bowers, who preceded her in death on October 5, 2007.
Surviving are, one son and daughter-in-law, Danny Ray and Paula Ann Bowers of Franklin; a twin sister,Dorothy and her husband, Jesse Nelson of Franklin; one brother, Willie Wayland Simmons of Richmond, VA; two grandchildren, Justin Bowers and Ashley Bowers both of Keyser.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Simmons.
Graveside services were held Saturday at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin with Rev. Stanley Kile officiating.

Pamela Arbogast, 69
Pamela Arbogast, age 69 of Elkins, formerly of Cherry Grove, died Monday, January 30, 2012 at her residence.
Born February 20, 1942, in Avella, PA, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Velma Miller Bell.
She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Akie Arbogast, whom she married in 1987, survives in Elkins.
Also surviving are a daughter, Lucinda Landes; two sons, Dennis Allen Miller of Elkins, Akie Arbogast, Jr. andwife Stephanie of Elkins; a sister, Paulette DuPain of Avella, PA; and four grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, George Bell; and a sister, Minnie McKinley.
Funeral services will be held today a p.m. at the Big Run Presbyterian Church in Cherry Grove with PastorBobby Brown officiating. Interment will be in the Arbogast Cemetery, Cherry Grove, WV.
Family will receive friends today from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.
