Ethel Gae Lambert
Ethel Gae (Harper) Lambert, 83, of Maysville, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg.
She was born Aug. 23, 1924, in Timber Ridge and was the daughter of the late Marvin James and Nanna Mae (Vance) Harper.
Mrs. Lambert graduated from Circleville HIgh School in 1944. She taught school in Monterey, VA, and later worked for Glen L. Martin Air Craft in Baltimore, MD.
She was a member of Maysville Bible Brethren Church, where she had served as deaconess.
Her husband, Benny E. Lambert, preceded her in death on April 10, 2003.
Surviving are one son, Roger J. Lambert and wife, Vickie of Maysville; one daughter, Michelle L. Dove and husband, Alan of Moorefield; two grandchildren, James Ryan Lambert and Jessica Lynn Lambert Simpson and husband, Randolph; one great-grandson, Bryson Cole Riggleman; three sisters, Edith Harman of Seneca Rocks; Jean Thompson and husband Calvin of Petersburg and Peggy Hedrick and husband Johnny of Maysville; one brother, Herbert Harper and wife Joy of Seneca Rocks.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Roland John Lambert; an infant sister, Evelyn Harper; and two brothers, Marvin J. Harper Jr. and Harlan Harper.
Funeral services were Sunday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, with Pastor Shyrl Smith officiating. Burial was in the South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg.

Archie Ray Alt, 74
Archie Ray Alt, 74, of Sparta, MI, and formerly of Upper Tract, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, in Grand Rapids, MI.
He was born Sept, 18, 1933, in Brushy Run and was the son of the late Scott R. Alt and Effie (Whetzel) Alt.
He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He was employed for 30 years at Monarch Hydraulics in Grand Rapids, MI.
His wife of 40 years, Janice Alt, Survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lisa Sepanik and Shelly Whitener; one sister, Dorothy Sears of PEtersburg; one brother Victor Alt of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Hessel-Cheslek Funeral Home, Sparta, MI, with Rev. Dennis Tyson officiating. Burial will be in Fairplaines Cemetery, Sparta, MI.

Michael Anderson, 40
Michael "Mike" Lawrence Anderson of Las Vegas, NV, died Feb. 10, 2008, at Lake Mead, NV, while living his dream as a technical diver due to a equipment malfunction.
He was born May 12, 1967, and was the son of Patricia Chapman of San Diego, CA, and Clifford Duane Anderson of Oregon.
Mr. Anderson was a Navy Veteran and worked at FCR AC in Las Vegas, NV> He was a certified dive master with PADI and SSI with the goal of being a diving instructor.
He was divorced from Eugenia Lambert, formerly of Franklin.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Jessica and Kelvin Mongold and Stephanie Silvious; five grandchildren, Jordan and Autumn Mongold, Hunter Anderson, Jayden Silvious and Gabriel Sherman, all of Timberville, VA; and his committed partner, Kathy Shines of Las Vegas, NV.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Broadway Emergency Squad Banquet Hall in Broadway, VA, on Saturday, March 1, at 6 p.m. His body was cremated and his ashes will be spread all over the world.
Ralph Jenkins, Jr., 66
Ralph "Bucky" Jenkins, Jr., 66, of Frametown went to be with the Lord on Feb. 9, 2008, after a long illness.
Born May 1, 1941, he was a son of the late Donnie and Hadie Clevenger Jenkins.
He was a timberman and was employed for 25 years for Larson Foundries.
His wife of 40 years, Helen Stump Jenkins, survives.
Also surviving are six daughters, Odie Jenkins and husband, Charley of Gassaway, Mary Jenkins and husband, George Finch of Frametown, Lisa Cottrill and husband, Richard of Rosedale, Brenda Raynor and husband, Scott of Frametown, Rose Dennis and companion, Janet Simmons of Harrisonburg, VA, and Mae Bennett and husband, Robert, of Franklin; a sister, Marie Jordan of Rosedale; two brothers, James Jenkins of Weston and Freddrick Jenkins of Kimbolten, OH; seven grandchildren Ricky and Allen Cottrill, Brandon and Jessica Raynor, John Dale Stump, Elizabeth Stump and Anita Weaver; and three grandkids, Shyann, Tiffany, Ethen Goodson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Feb. 13 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, with Pastor George Rose officiating. Burial was in James Cemetery.
William L. Elyard
William Lee Elyard, 80, of Franklin died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, at Rockingham MEmorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.
Mr. Elyard was born March 28, 1927, in Franklin and was the son of the late Samuel Lee Elyard and Amanda Florence Mitchell Elyard.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was co-owner and founder of Elyard's Gulf and B&M Services. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the Franklin Moose Lodge No. 769 and the American Legion. He attended Franklin schools.
His wife, Mable V. Ruddle Elyard, preceded him in death Feb. 17, 2008.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Elyard and wife, Charel of Franklin, and David Elyard and wife, Cynthia of Harrisonburg, VA; six grandchildren, Wesley Elyard, Jamie Bostic, Jenny Elyard, Brent Elyard, Carrie Ann Fulk and Brandon Lee Elyard; and three great-grandchildren, Kortney Bostic, Aidan Bostic and Mason Lee Fulk.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Martha Ruth Good.
Pastors Craig Richter and Wnedy Richter conducted the funeral Tuesday at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial was at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin with military Honors by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or the Pendleton County Rescue Squad.
