Douglas P. Arbogast
Douglas P. Arbogast, 48, of Chesterfield, OH, passed away on Jan. 31, 2011, at the Cleveland Clinic. He was inbad health for a number of years.
He was born Aug. 8, 1962, in Cleveland, OH, and was the son of Ruthleen (Sponaugle) Arbogast and the lateVere Arbogast.
He graduated from Euclid High School, Euclid, OH.
He was self employed as an auto mechanic for a number of years until his health declined and he had to retire.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Kevin Arbogast and wife, Jennifer.
He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Juanita, Rexrode, 90
Juanita Grace Rexrode, 90, of Monterey, VA, passed away Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at Envoy of Staunton.
She was born Oct. 13, 1920, in Monterey, VA, a daughter of the late Will and Elsie Propst Halterman.
On Jan. 28, 1939, she married, Roscoe C. Rexrode, who preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1994.
Mrs. Rexrode was a homemaker and a member of Wayside Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Marlin and Wanda Rexrode of Franklin; three grandchildren, IonaKinkead and husband, Scott of Stuarts Draft, VA, Kevin Goodbar and financee, Misty Puffenbarger of Monterey, VA, and Gregory Miller and wife, Faith of Waynesbobo, VA; and three great-grandchildren; Sarah and Andrew Kinkead and Jessica Miller.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Morris Rexrode; a daughter, Joyce Goodbar; six brothers; and twosisters.
A funeral service was conducted Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell, VA, with the Pastor TimothyHall and Pastor Frank Hall officiating. Burial was in Bowers Cemetery.
Jack Lee Teter
Jack Lee Teter, 81, of Franklin died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
He was born Aug. 17, 1929, at Sinks of Gandy and was the son of William Olie Teter and Martha Ellen WimerTeter.
Mr. Teter was a farmer and attended Christ Central Community Church. He was a veteran, having served withthe Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War.
His wife, Eunice Hedrick Teter, preceded him in death in 1963.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Kathy Teter of Circleville; and three grandchildren,Jasmine Teter, Emilee Teter and Kaylee Teter.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin with Rev. Sam Harperofficiating. Member of the Pendleton County Honor Guard conducted military services. Burial was at Laurel Hill Cemetery at Whitmer

Kyra Nicole Kisamore
Kyra Nichole Kisamore, 23, of Maysville passed away on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Grant Memorial Hospital,Petersburg, as a result of respiratory arrest following a severe asthma attack.
She was born March 29, 1987, in Fairfax, VA, the daughter of Jeffrey Estes and Rhonda Corbin Shettles.
Mrs. Kisamore was a 2005 graduate of Pendleton County High School, a member of VICA and a member of theBible Missionary Church, Onego. She was employed as a CNA at Heartland of Keyser and had previously worked for Grant County Nursing Home for three years.
On June 13, 2008, she married Justin Dean Kisamore, who survives in Maysville.
Surviving are her father, Jeffrey Estes and wife, Kimberly of Moorefield; her mother, Rhonda Corbin Shettlesand husband, Kevin of Willow Springs, NC; a daughter, Kailea Kisamore (age two) of Maysville; a son, Ranson Kisamore (age three) of Maysville; grandparents, Frank and Zula Crummett of New Port Richey, FL., and Drema Atkinson Taylor of Rawley Springs, VA; and four half brothers, Justin Estes of Rawley Springs, VA, and Joey, Kyle and Brian Shettles, all of Willow Springs, NC.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Elroy Estes; and her grandfather, Charles D. Estes.
Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home, Petersburg, with PastorDan Ewald officiating. Interment will be in the Mallow Cemetery, Riverton.
Family received friends on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8p.m. at the funeral home.

Gene Wilson Smith
Gene Wilson Smith, Sr., 69, of Brandywine died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital inHarrisonburg, VA.
He was born April 17, 1941, at Ruddle and was the son of the late Olin Frederick “Poodie” Smith and MargaretPauline Miller Smith.
He had worked as an auto mechanic and at Marvel Poultry in Dayton, VA.
On Feb. 15, 1991, he married Patricia Payne Smith, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Ella “Ellan” Fielding and husband, Robert of Harrisonburg, VA, and TheresaSmith of Harrisonburg, VA; one son, Gene W. Smith, Jr. And wife, Christina of New Market, VA; one stepdaughter, Wendy Crider and husband, Bobby of Brandywine; one step-son, Shane Eye and wife, Becky of Donoro, PA; two sisters, Lucy G. Propst and husband, Delbert of Brandywine, and Peggy Hoover and husband, Jerry of College Park, MD; one brother, Jim Smith and wife, Betty of Harrisonburg, VA; and six grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon, Evan, Emanuel, Isaiah and Brylee.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Olin “Sonny” Smith, Jr. And Gerald Smith.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin with Rev. Stanley Kileofficiating. Burial was at the Ruddle Church Cemetery.

John Cowger, Jr. 91
John Preston Cowger, Jr., 91, of Harrisonburg, VA, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at Avante Nursing Home.
Mr. Cowger was born on March 15, 1919, in Fort Seybert and was the son of the late John Preston, Sr. AndNora Dyer Cowger.
Her served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II.He worked as a bookkeeper for Valley Tuxedo Feed Co. And Service Oils. He was a salesman for Consolidated Food Products and Kraft Foods, and he also owned and operated a poultry farm.
He served on the Rockingham County Board of Supervisors. He was a member of Victory Fellowship Church.
On Aug. 26, 1945, he married the former Phyllis May, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Steven Cowger and wife, Susan, and Kim Cowger and wife, Selena, all ofHarrisonburg, VA, Kevin Cowger and wife, Nickee Randolph of Grottoes, VA, a sister, Janet Cowger of Harrisonburg, VA; and six grandchildren, Brian Cowger, Kyle Cowger, Uriah Cowger, Elias Cowger, Natalie Cowger and Kira Johnson.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, William, Roland, Ruth and Robert Allen Cowger.
A funeral service was conducted Wednesday at the Greenmount Church of the Brethren with Wendell “Sonny” Henkle and Pastors Harold Myers and Ken Dolan officiating. Burial followed at the Singers Glen Cemetery.
