Paul David Judy, 74
Paul David Judy, 74, of Arthur, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.
Mr. Judy was born Nov. 14, 1927, in Upper Tract and was the son of the late Daniel Judy and Eula (Sears) Judy Parker.
He retired from Moorefield Southern States, having served in propane gas business. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and served both in the North Atlantic and the Pacific campaigns in the Murmansk Convoy Run as an anti-aircraft gunner. He was a charter member of Potomac Highlands VFW Post No. 6454 and John M. Goladay American Legion Post 64 of Moorefield.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Elaine M. (Kimble) Judy; two sons and daughters-in-law, David D. Judy and Susan of Arthur and Dennis R. Judy and Jeannie of Snellville, GA; three sisters, Denisa "Boots" Alt and Eleanor Dawson, both of Petersburg, and Martha Runion of Lahmansville; six grandchildren, Elaine (Judy) Price and husband, David of Arthur, Sgt. Jonathan Judy, US Army, Ft. Lewis, WA, Jeremy Judy of Snellville, GA, Joshua Judy of Destin, FL, Sgt. Christopher Judy, US Army, Ft. Lewis WA, and Nicholas Judy of Snellville, GA; and one great-granddaughter, Andrea Price.
The Rev. Stanley Kile conducted the funeral service Saturday at 10 a.m. at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. Interment was at Lahmansville Cemetery with graveside service by members of the Garrett College Pipes and Drums of Oakland, MD, and combined Veteran Organizations of Grant County, accompanied by the Petersburg High School JROTC.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lahmansville Cemetery or charity of choice.
