Blanche E. Shrader, 90 

Blanche Elizabeth Stone Shrader, 90, of Harrisonburg, VA, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Avante in Harrisonburg, VA. 

Mrs. Shrader was born April 3, 1913, in Pendleton County and was a daughter of the late Pearl and Dora Elizabeth Moyers  Simmons. 

She was a homemaker and a member of the St. John Lutheran Church.  

On June 3, 1932 she married John William Stone, who died Mar 31, 1940.  On March 6, 1948, she married Floyd Shrader, who died Dec, 2, 1993. 

Surviving are two daughters, Norma Jean Simmons of Mount Sidney, VA, and Lura Margaret Bolton of Harrisonburg, VA, a son John Burton Stone of Dover, DE; a stepdaughter, Mary June Allman of Warsaw, IN; a stepgrandson reared  in her home, Hugh Douglas Corbett of Harrisonburg, VA; a brother Paul B. Simmons of Harrisonburg, VA ; sister, Leona Hoover of Harrisonburg, VA; six grandchildren; nine great-greanchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. 

Pastor Cecil D. Bradfield conducted the funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. John Lutheran Church in Moyes.  Burial was in the St. Paul Cemetery.

Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell, VA, was in charge of the arrangements.

Jimmie V. Self, Sr., 63

Jimmie Valentine Self, Sr., 63, of Burlington, died Friday, May 30, 2003, at his home. 

Mr. Self was born Feb. 14, 1939, in Smoke Hole and was a son of the late Olie Self and Annie Kimble Self.  

He owned and operated Self's Trucking for over 30 years and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Keyser. 

Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Annalee Ellifritz Self; two sons, Jimmie Self, Jr., of Burlington and Olie Self of Petersburg,; two step-sons, Alvin Mullins, Jr., of Pound, VA, and Curtis Mullins of Burlington; a step-daughter, Patricia Scott of Beaver Dam, KY; two brothers, Vincent Self of North Carolina, and Ernest Cleo Self of Maysville; two sisters, Aretta Helmick of Winchester, VA, and Zula Alt of Baltimore, MD; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.   

President Wesley R. Ehlers conducted the funeral 2 p.m. Sunday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.  Burial was at South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens in Petersburg.
